Let us explain how we understand the company’s AG+ strategy. For Carraro, AG+ stands for energy management, innovation, and added value through the choice of the most suitable solution.

Carraro ‘s AG+ goes back for second at Agritechnica

As Fulvio Lo Conte, Sales & Marketing – Business Development Director, explains the Carraro philosophy at Agritechnica: “AG+ represents Carraro’s approach to modern agriculture: innovative, sustainable, and beneficial for those who work in the field.

The format, launched at Agritechnica 2023, goes beyond the simple presentation of products. It communicates a way of thinking about agriculture—based on performance, efficiency, comfort, ease of use, and connectivity. ‘Sustainability’ means providing tangible solutions that meet real market needs, while reducing waste and optimizing resources.”

What does that plus sign actually stand for? “The ‘plus’,” continues Lo Conte, “is the result of an open dialogue with the customer, aimed at identifying what is truly needed, without adding unnecessary complexity. Thanks to our expertise across multiple technologies and to multi-domain simulations, we can converge on the most suitable solutions for the intended application, taking into account TCO, ease of use, and the right level of complexity.

The range of transmissions up to 135 hp fully reflects this philosophy: from basic synchronized manual or semi-powershift solutions with automatic, electronically controlled Power Reverse, to robotized systems or CVTs.

Among the highlights, the T135 targets tractors that move beyond the specialized segment and into the compact utility range, with up to 8 tons GVW and 36F+18R speeds. These compact yet versatile machines are designed to handle both open-field operations and work in confined spaces.

This year you will see the debut of the T135 EvoShift, featuring an electro-hydraulic system that electronically manages the six gears, according to a semi-automatic (on request) or fully automatic control logic.

Alongside conventional transmissions, Carraro will also display a CVT module for 100 hp vehicles, designed to scale up to 130–140 hp in the coming years.

The core of the market still demands base or semi-powershift machines,” explains Lo Conte, “equipped with functions such as Power Shuttle and Power Reverse. Meanwhile, powershift gear shifting for an increasing number of speeds (4, 6, 8, or full) is reserved for tractors with higher technological content or greater power ratings.

For specialized tractors, the CVT trend continues to grow as the most effective choice—ensuring the right traction and optimal engine conditions under all working situations, for both performance and fuel efficiency, with maximum ease of operation. Hence, the new Carraro T100 CVT will be market-ready early next year, powering vehicles from several prestigious brands.”

Smarter, cheaper, more efficient — to paraphrase the Olympic motto.

What about electrification? Stay tuned!
