Good news from Saran, France, the European John Deere Power Systems HQ. John Deere Electronics has unveiled the latest updates to the software from New Eagle, a mechatronic control solutions specialist, that powers its versatile M Series controllers. It now provides CODESYS support as another option to the New Eagle Raptor tool set, allowing for greater versatility and ease of programming.

A leader in embedded control systems for intelligent vehicles and machines, New Eagle has been working with global leader in outdoor equipment technology and engineering design John Deere Electronics for 10 years. This business relationship places software and usability at the heart of John Deere Electronics’ product portfolio, giving Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs access to dedicated software development tools that have been created specifically for machine operation in extreme environments.

Versatility and Reliability

The rugged, IP67-rated John Deere M Series of electronic control units is designed for use in environments with severe heat and extreme cold, harsh chemical vapours, and direct exposure to water, dirt, dust, and rock.

John Deere ECUs offer high current outputs and are available with multiple combinations of CAN, LIN, and Ethernet in one common architecture. They feature built-in acceleration and temperature sensors, wake-up capabilities, AECQ-qualified electrical components, and 32-bit microprocessors.

M Series controllers now feature software support for the trusted CODESYS platform. This gives additional flexibility to OEMs and developers of applications for on and off-highway, utility and industrial vehicles. CODESYS can be used alongside the versatile development tools from New Eagle’s award-winning Raptor embedded High-Performance Compute Platform as project needs evolve.
