Schaeffler made its first appearance at Agritechnica with an encyclopedic portfolio. We’ll summarize some highlights, starting with the new platform for electromechanical linear actuators. The German Company unveiled a new EWELLIX linear actuator platform with the product designation EMA-80. It was developed for the most common applications in construction, agricultural machinery and in the automation industry. With peak loads of up to 31 kN, strokes up to 1500 mm, and speeds of up to 160 mm/s, the new EWELLIX linear actuators can replace hydraulic solutions.

The EWELLIX linear actuator EMA-80 offers many mounting options. The push tube is available with a T-Bar, threaded male connection pin, or internal threads and can be supplemented with a screwed-on rod end. To complete the offer there are three mounting options on the motor side of the actuator. Either Trunnion mounts on the bearing housing or one of two rear attachments on the gearbox: Spherical plain bearing or a T-Bar.

Schaeffler now offers a total of four series: the modular EWELLIX linear actuators CAHB10, CAHB2x with rated forces of 1.5 and 10 kN, the new EWELLIX platform EMA-80 up to 31 kN, and the EMA-100 series up to 60 kN.

Electric Motors

Schaeffler’s electric motors can be used not only as fully electric traction drives, but also as generators in hybrid drives or even as a drive for an electric PTO.  The 800 V heavy-duty platform consists of three oil-cooled motors, each developing 112 kW, 207 kW, and 220 kW continuous output. The only difference is the length of the active parts while the A- and B-sides of the motors are each identical. Schaeffler adopts the ‘wave winding technology’ for the winding of the stator. This flat-wire wave winding makes for a very high copper filling ratio in the motor and results in a high-power density.

The heavy-duty electric motors achieve maximum efficiency of over 97 percent in a speed range from 3,000 to 8,000 rpm. With an overall length of 151, 206, and 261 mm with a uniform outside diameter of around 239 mm (laminated core diameter) or 280 mm (including screw connection), the motors take up minimal space.

Quoting Schaeffler about Agritechnica 2025

We are known for our high-performance bearings, which can also be used in extremely challenging conditions. With the expanded offering – for example, in sensor technology or with our electric motors – we are also able to support our customers in the development of highly efficient machines and the further development of autonomous agriculture and farming equipment,” says Patrick Scherr, Global Sector Lead Offroad at Schaeffler.
