This year’s Open Factory was a record for Carraro. An edition that saw over 1400 visitors cross the threshold of the Group’s headquarters in Campodarsego. Far exceeding the quota of 1200 participants recorded in 2016. The Open Factory is a meeting point for a community called a company and this was also the case for Carraro. The Italian OEM organised the meeting at its plant in the province of Padua, in the North East of Italy. An area with a strong manufacturing vocation, especially in the field of mechatronics, power generation and special applications.

Also the students joined the Carraro Open Factory

It all began on Saturday morning, with the meeting dedicated to 80 students from the Newton Pertini Institute in Camposampiero, who also had the opportunity to meet, during a private visit session, some Carraro collaborators who studied at their school. An interesting opportunity for discussion to understand the dynamics of the world of work today. A special moment was then dedicated, on Sunday morning, to over 150 Carraro pensioners, who were the protagonists of an exclusive visit between memories of the past and curiosities about the future. In the highly anticipated presence of the President Mario Carraro, son of the founder, Giovanni.

An evento for 1200 people just on Sunday

We finally reached the centerpiece of Open Factory with the opening of the doors, on Sunday afternoon, to over 1200 visitors – including many Carraro collaborators with family and friends – who had the opportunity to get to know the Campodarsego headquarters up close, passing through the factory, the R&D center and ending on a high note with a convivial aperitif. 120 of them also had the opportunity to participate in a robotics laboratory, created in collaboration with COMAU. This year COMAU turned 50. Comau began as the COnsorzio MAcchine Utensili, formed in 1973 by several Torino-based small companies that were providing machinery to the FIAT Group.
