A Quarter Century of FPT in Brazil
FPT’S Sete Lagoas Plant Celebrates 25 Years of Activity for Brazil and Latin American
FPT has celebrated its deep roots in Brazil. The plant in Minas Gerais celebrated a quarter century of operations. Just to clarify, the Sete Lagoas facility started production 25 years ago, a milestone for the Italian brand, recently placed under the banner of Tata Motors, alongside the Iveco Group.
FPT established its presence in Brazil since 2000
Since the iconic date of November 25th, 2000, the plant has produced 725,000 engines, playing a decisive role in the industrial history of Latin America and providing tangible support for the energy transition. The facility manufactures engines for the on-road, off-road, and power generation segments, and is home to the production of globally renowned engines from the F1, NEF Series (find HERE the news about the two millionth NEF engine produced in the Turin plant) and S8000 lines, which power commercial vehicles, agricultural and construction machines, as well as G-Drives for power generation.
Aligned with the Brand’s decarbonization strategy in Latin America, it also leads the development of biofuel technologies such as ethanol, natural gas, and biomethane.
According to Tavares and Gonçalves
“Sete Lagoas is the heart of FPT in Latin America. Every achievement along the way fills us with pride, as they celebrate the talent and commitment of the people who, for 25 years, have driven efficiency, innovation, and sustainability in our operations,” said Carlos Tavares, President of FPT for Latin America.

“Each engine produced in Sete Lagoas represents more than power: it is the result of teamwork and knowledge. As we look ahead, we remain committed to advancing technology, and delivering value to our customers, to drive the future of energy and mobility in Latin America,”Jeanie Gonçalves, Sete Lagoas Plant Manager, commented.
