When it comes to vehicle maintenance intervals, the engine is the primary focus. Liebherr doubles the maintenance interval for its Generation 6 material handling machines. While the first two maintenance intervals remain at 500 and 1,000 operating hours respectively, Liebherr is introducing the new interval from the third maintenance onwards.

This is made possible by various optimizations in conjunction with Liebherr original spare parts and Liebherr lubricants in the corresponding machines. With the new maintenance interval of 1,000 operating hours, maintenance costs can be reduced by up to 30 %. The extended interval now applies to electric and diesel-powered material handling machines of the LH 40 to LH 150 (electric drive) and LH 30 to LH 150 (diesel drive) models.

Improving the maintenance time Liebherr dramatically reduces downtime

Extending the maintenance interval results in significantly lower maintenance costs for machine operators. Overall, a reduction in costs of up to 30 % is possible. The decisive factors here are the shorter downtimes of the corresponding material handling machines and the resource-saving use of materials, for example with regard to filter replacement and fewer oil changes. In addition, the extension of the maintenance interval results in fewer service calls, which makes machine operation even more efficient and economical.

According to the German company, the newly defined maintenance intervals apply only when using Liebherr original spare parts together with Liebherr’s specially formulated lubricants and operating fluids. The aim is to ensure that material handling machines achieve maximum performance with maximum efficiency and the longest possible service life. With this holistic service approach, Liebherr not only offers quality and safety, but also predictable machine availability thanks to the clearly defined and now extended maintenance intervals.
