AGCO Power CORE50 passes DLG’s PowerMix test with flying colors under the hood of the Fendt 620 Vario
The performance of the Fendt 600 Vario recorded by the PowerMix at the DLG test centre in Gross-Umstadt, Germany, is the result of close collaboration between Fendt and AGCO Power in Linnavuori, Finland
The AGCO Power CORE50 and the DLG PowerMix: a perfect combination that has set the benchmark in efficiency. The torque curve, stable between 1,200 and 1,900 rpm, helps support the tractor’s work cycle in open field conditions without any stress.

Which tractor? In the renowned DLG PowerMix test, the Fendt 620 Vario set the benchmark with a fuel efficiency of 245 g/kWh. The DLG results speak of a highly functional partnership between AGCO Power, their CORE50 engine and Fendt.
The CORE50 according to DLG PowerMix results
The new Fendt 600 Vario series is all about efficient versatility – an “all-round tractor without compromise” that delivers the power of a 6-cylinder with the economy of a 4-cylinder. Its holistic ground-up design approach starts right at the engine and flows seamlessly through the VarioDrive drivetrain. At the heart of this award-winning machine is the AGCO Power CORE50 engine.

- The Fendt DynamicPerformance (DP) concept seamlessly provides extra power exactly when you need it, maximizing the output of the 5.0-litre CORE50 engine.
- With an extremely low power-to-weight ratio, outstanding maneuverability, and a massive payload capacity of up to 5.8 tons, it is a versatile master of arable farming, grassland work, and heavy transport.
- The VarioDrive drivetrain and VarioGrip tire pressure regulation system ensure that the engine’s power is transferred to the ground efficiently, protecting the soil while maximizing pulling power.
Features and Details

The CORE50 shares the individual cylinder displacement (BxS: 110×132 mm) of its big brother, the CORE75 — the firstborn of the brand-new AGCO Power engine family. EGR-free, it features an e-wastegate working in conjunction with the common rail. By running at just 800–950 rpm at idle and reaching nominal speed at 1,900 rpm, the engine drastically improves fuel consumption and lowers TCO. In the renowned DLG PowerMix test, the Fendt 620 Vario set the benchmark with an incredible fuel efficiency of 245 g/kWh. On average, it is 10–15% more economical than all continuously variable tractors previously tested in its power class.
The DLG PowerMix cycle puts both tractor and engine through their paces across different work cycles, enabling a balanced and impartial assessment — as stated by Paul Wittmann of Fendt at Agritechnica 2025. He also explained the massive advantages of in-house development, the shift to a highly efficient four-cylinder concept and how the low-RPM philosophy is changing the game for farmers’ TCO and daily comfort.
