At Agritechnica, Zoomlion debuted in the unusual role of an agricultural machinery manufacturer. We bring you the insights shared by our colleagues at Italian magazine Trattori. The only addition to their report is the prominent presence of Yuchai under the hoods of these Chinese machines—hitherto known primarily as leaders in the earthmoving sector—whom we met personally at Agritechnica.

From tractors to hybrid combine harvesters

Among the many international manufacturers taking a serious stand regarding “pure” product innovation, Chinese giant Zoomlion is a name we cannot overlook. At their stand during the Hannover trade fair, they showcased new releases across nearly every agricultural sector.

Their lineup included not one, but three new tractors, as well as combine harvesters and telehandlers—totaling an impressive nine new product launches. These are figures that few agricultural manufacturers can claim to have “thrown into the mix” at Agritechnica. But let’s take it one step at a time.

Zoomlion: On every front

The flagship of this powerful agricultural offensive consists of four new “sustainable” machines featuring hybrid powertrains. Specifically, we are talking about the DV3504, DQ2604, and DL1604 hybrid tractor series, along with the 480-hp H7-600E hybrid combine harvester.

Designed for large-scale, smart, and sustainable farming, these hybrid tractors deliver high power, efficient fuel consumption, and enhanced operator comfort across a power range from 160 to 350 horsepower.

The crown jewel of this range is the DV3504 hybrid tractor, equipped with the MIDD (Multi-mode Intelligent Distributed Drive) system, developed in-house by Zoomlion. This technology is capable of delivering 119 kN of traction and a hydraulic flow of 227 l/min. Essentially, it is a powertrain designed to meet the high power demands of large-scale farming while simultaneously enhancing operator comfort through a soundproof cab and an air-suspension seat.

A live demonstration of the Zoomlion DV3504 hybrid tractor was streamed from China, focusing on its performance in autonomous harrowing operations. Powered by the Zpilot Pro system, the event highlighted the Chinese manufacturer’s ability to optimize the entire agricultural process, from soil preparation and sowing to crop management and harvesting.

The demonstration featured five simultaneous viewpoints: aerial drone footage, front and rear tractor cameras, the in-cab display, and the cloud-based management platform. Participants observed the tractor autonomously generating optimal paths, performing various turning maneuvers—including X-turns—and maintaining centimeter-level precision thanks to multi-sensor fusion and a high-precision positioning system.

Zoomlion thinks big with its new harvester

The other major highlight at the stand was undoubtedly the massive H7-600E combine harvester, which drew significant attention due to its impressive performance metrics: 20% higher efficiency, over 30% reduction in operator workload, 70% fewer transmission components, over 50% improved reliability, and 30% lower energy consumption. As the first high-capacity intelligent hybrid combine harvester on record, it pairs a 480-hp engine with an 11.55 kWh battery, delivering a maximum power output of over 600 hp.
