Green Machines will displayed at Ecomondo Rimini. This marks their second presence along the Via Emilia, following their appearance at the Hydrogen Expo in Piacenza. However, the electric version will be found in Rimini. The Scottish manufacturer’s road sweeper, the GM720ze, has recently been delivered to Docks Cereali in Ravenna.

Green Machines Sweeper is Battery-Electric

The GM720ze is powered by 60 kWh lithium batteries and will be used daily to clean the quays and state-owned areas within the port of Ravenna. In this operating environment, characterized by light and volatile dust generated by the loading and unloading of ships, the GM720ze aims to:

  • improve air quality, thanks to CloudMaker technology that reduces dust dispersion;
  • increase operational efficiency, with up to 8 hours of operation on a single charge;
  • reduce environmental impact, in line with the group’s sustainability strategies.
    The investment is part of the European “Green Ports” project, which promotes the ecological transition of port activities through the introduction of low-emission technologies, with the aim of significantly reducing the environmental impact of logistics operations.

Quoting Docks Cereali and GreenForce

For Docks Cereali, sustainability is not just a goal, but an integral part of our industrial strategy. With the introduction of the GM720ze, we are strengthening our commitment to reducing our environmental impact while improving operating conditions within the terminal,” said Riccardo Vitiello, CEO of Docks Cereali.

The introduction of the GM720ze electric sweeper,” emphasized Mauro Zizzi, head of the technical department at Docks Cereali srl, “represents a significant addition to our fleet, standing out for its versatility, practicality, and functional completeness. In synergy with the vacuum cleaner and pressure washer, it allows us to achieve a level of total and effective cleaning, thus ensuring standards of absolute excellence.”

The delivery of the world’s first GM720ze to Docks Cereali Ravenna is a historic moment for us. For over forty years, Green Machines has been developing technologies for urban and industrial cleaning, but with the GM720ze we have made a generational leap: a zero-emission machine capable of operating in extremely complex environments such as port terminals without compromising on power, autonomy, and efficiency.

This was stated by Roberto Sterza, sales manager of GreenForce, importer and distributor for Italy of Green Machines, who continues: “This sweeper was created to respond concretely to the sustainability needs that cities and businesses place on us. We are convinced that electrification and the use of advanced dust suppression systems, such as our CloudMaker, are the right way to improve air quality and reduce the environmental impact of daily operations.
