A reliable partnership

The Zaxis-7 medium excavators are exceptionally versatile for a wide range of applications. They are equipped with Hitachi’s industry-leading hydraulic system, TRIAS III, and its superior efficiency excels during loading or heavy digging operations. Isuzu is the engine partner. Who is the main character under the top snatch Zaxis-7 excavator bonnet? Its name is Isuzu 6HK1X, a six cylinders in line Diesel engine able to provide 210 kW at 1900 rpm and 1080 Nm available at 1500 rpm. The Japanese engine has been equipped with what it takes to achieve the fateful European homologation. It is powered by the high pressure common rail, waste gate turbocharger with aftercooler, 4 valves per cylinder. The Japanese engineering school has not yet repudiated exhaust gas recirculation, and so on the H series of Isuzu we find Erg, together with DOC and SCR.  Other features? Electric and self-priming fuel lift pump, glow plug starting aid, both side or bottom drain oil pan and SAE B Gear Case PTO as options.

What about Hitachi Zaxis-7 medium excavators?

We report some notes from the Japanese OEM.

Hitachi Zaxis and Isuzu
  • Up to 10% reduced fuel consumption compared to previous models.
  • Enhanced efficiency due to Hitachi’s industry-leading hydraulic system, TRIAS III, adopted in order to reduce fuel consumption.
  • Improved comfort in the cab with integrated console and seat suspension, lowest noise levels in the market and 20% less vibration than previous models.
  • Increased safety thanks to superior visibility and 270-degree bird’s-eye view from the cab.
  • Easy operation comes from the new ergonomic design of the console and switches, and convenient access to controls. You can navigate quickly through the menu on the 8” LCD monitor with the multifunctional controller. The hi-res anti-glare screen is also easier to view, and the refreshed layout offers a clear display and desirable functionality – such as air conditioning, DAB+ radio and Bluetooth.

FPT Industrial: let’s go, XC13

The XC13 surely sounds agnostic in FPT Industrial’s unofficial nomenclature; it comes, indeed, with a tripartite certification: Euro 6E (winking an eye at the upcoming Euro 7), methane gas and also biofuel, with a link to hydrogen. Andrea Abbà, FPT’s product marketing manager, told us about dialogui...
