Perkins @ Conexpo 2026
On the opening day of CONEXPO-CON/AGG in Las Vegas, Perkins launched a new power-dense engine for small-to medium-sized machines and announcing the latest developments in its programs to develop new energy power solutions
At Conexpo 2026, Perkins showcased such a wide array of solutions that we will only be able to provide a comprehensive report in one the upcoming issues of our magazine. These include world premieres alongside highlights first seen at Bauma Munich in Spring 2025, now being presented to the American audience for the very first time.
Conexpo 2026: Highlights from the Perkins Booth

Located in booth S-80229 of the South Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Perkins is introducing a new power-dense 173 hp (129 kW) option for its Perkins 904 Series. The new 904J-E36TTA is engineered with a strengthened core for increased power, torque and robustness, as well as a twin turbo to support increased power response and altitude capability.
Next, Conexpo marks the public debut of Perkins’ advanced, fuel-configurable, hybridised industrial open power unit (IOPU), which has completed extensive development testing with hydrogen fuel. Known as Project Coeus, the IOPU has been developed with Equipmake and Loughborough University’s Wolfson School of Mechanical, Electrical and Manufacturing Engineering.

Finally, Perkins will also showcase a new battery-electric power unit technical demonstrator installed in a McElroy TracStar 900i pipe fusion machine. The plug-and-play battery-electric power unit is designed to fit within the same chassis space and offer the same mechanical connection and electrical interface points as the 3.6 litre IOPU it replaces.
