FPT Industrial at Iveco’s 50th Anniversary: The Second Part of the Chat with Daniele Pozzo
At Iveco's 50th-anniversary celebration, Daniele Pozzo spoke candidly about FPT Industrial's strategies, from electrification to power generation

Let’s complete the description of FPT Industrial’s vision in the words of Daniele Pozzo (find HERE the first part of the interview), as it emerged during the celebration of Iveco ‘s 50th anniversary.
FPT on the Iveco stage. Electrification, not a sprint, but a super marathon
FPT Industrial is member of the Iveco Group. The opening photo refers to the event organized for Iveco’s 50th anniversary. “The e-powertrain plant is not a a finishing line, it is a starting point because, compared to the rest of our business, e-powertrain still accounts for a very small proportion and we are seeing that this energy transition is progressing relatively slowly. We have made an investment and are trying to keep pace with the market. A pace that does not exist today. But it is not a sprint, it is a super marathon.
We have made choices regarding the propulsion system, so much so that we are the solution that Iveco adopts for light and heavy commercial vehicles; we have made careful choices regarding energy storage, covering some of Iveco’s needs. This is how we are moving forward as FPT Industrial, working on both the propulsion and energy storage aspects.
The e-powertrain is a complex creature, and having started to work with Iveco on some products, we made choices and decided (on the energy storage side) to choose those applications that had a faster adoption rate (light commercial vehicles and buses). FPT Industrial is also a company that is undergoing a transformation and has had to set itself a roadmap to address these changes. Energy storage, for example, was also a new world for us because we are not chemists.”
Relationship with the parent company
“CNH Industrial is no longer the parent company. Today, the Iveco Group is a publicly traded company that does not belong to CNH Industrial (find HERE the news about the spin off, editor’s note). We continue to have a very close relationship with CNH Industrial because engines are very complex tools, and we guarantee our customers the same professionalism that we guaranteed before and that we guarantee to many customers. CNH is no longer an internal customer, but it is just as important as before. Our interaction is perhaps more commercial than before, but the development, application and commitment processes are exactly the same as before. At Agritechnica, we will celebrate FPT Industrial’s leadership in the agricultural sector.”

And the partnership with Raywin?
“It’s a win-win decision to complete a product range that our network was asking for and which, after careful consideration, led to the collaboration agreement. Collaboration to work with China, not to work in China.”
