Merlo and Deutz Together… in the Forests
Merlo was present at the inaugural Futa-Expo dedicated to the forestry sector, showcasing its specialized MM-X range tractors, equipped with Deutz engines, alongside its high-capacity telehandlers and Cingo transporters

The MM350X model sits at the top of the Merlo range, featuring the Deutz TCD7.8 (at bauma 2025 also in H2 version). This 7.8-liter engine recently entered competition with the 7.7-liter mtu-derived unit. The six-cylinder engine (bore x stroke 110×136 mm) delivers 260 kilowatts at 2,300 rpm, with an approximate torque of 1,400 Nm. Hydraulic flow stands at 400 l/min at a working pressure of 420 bar. The hydrostatic transmission allows for maximum control. While the negative brake provides immediate stopping power, the presence of oil-immersed disc brakes ensures an even higher level of safety.
Not only Deutz in the Merlo MMX’s architecture
The rigid chassis features four-wheel steering and drive, guaranteeing optimal balance even during maneuvers on steep slopes. Merlo has also reinforced it with high-strength armor in the most exposed areas. The cab is FOPS-ROPS and OPS certified with shatterproof windows approved as required by international safety standards for forestry machinery.
The range of tractors Merlo markets under the TreEmme brand are machines designed to provide extremely high hydraulic performance. Specifically conceived for the forestry sector, the MM-X range was showcased at FUTA-Expo 2025 with the MM350X model.
This machine is engineered for heavy forestry work, targeting both companies and contractors. However, it’s also well-suited for road maintenance, silviculture, and soil preparation. The core of the machine lies in its hydraulic system, which delivers exceptionally high oil flow to power attachments like mulchers, stabilizers, or stone crushers.
The tractor is thus characterized by high mobility, maneuverability, and agility, capable of working with a wide array of hydraulically powered attachments. While the MM-X series was originally developed for primarily forestry use, it has expanded its operations to the winter season, pairing with snow blowers, blades, or plows. Their versatility has literally opened up a world of applications, finding a place even in the road construction sector.
