In this article, we reported on the contract that Bergen signed on behalf of the Langley Group to power AI data centers in the USA. This is part of the mission that inspired the Langley Group to develop a comprehensive technical-commercial proposal, which also integrates services from Marelli Motori and Piller.

Less than four months after Langley Holdings officially took ownership of Bergen Engines from Rolls-Royce, its Power Solutions Division is launching a combined microgrid offering, focused on a rapidly emerging mix of renewable energy sources. Find more out.

The first 4 of 36 Bergen B36:45V20 gas engines, each producing 11.2MW of behind-the-meter (BTM) power, were shipped from the factory in Norway over the holiday period, destined for the company’s first AI data center BTM power project in the USA.

Marelli Motori & Bergen for AI

The engines, which will be fitted with Marelli Motori high-density alternators on site, are scheduled to come into service in April, together with Piller SHIELDX power stabilization modules.

Further deliveries will be made progressively through 2026.  All 36 Bergen-Marelli generator sets and SHIELDX modules are to be delivered by year end, with up to 400MW of gross BTM power coming on stream Q1 2027.

The final word to Jon Erik Røv

This is an historic moment” said managing director Jon Erik Røv. “The race to power AI is on and Bergen Engines is very much part of that. With over $1 billion of orders received in December alone, powering AI has become a major focus as we ramp up to meet this unprecedented demand in 2026”
