Develon continues its alternative powertrain offensive. Building on a product portfolio that grows more diverse every year, the Korean manufacturer has launched a new electrified mini-excavator with an enclosed cab: the DX23E-7. This model features two battery pack options: a standard 32 kWh unit (the largest standard capacity in its class) and a higher-capacity 40 kWh version. Equipped with quick-coupler hydraulic lines, the DX23E-7 also features electrical systems and components optimized for operation in harsh environments. But let’s take a closer look.

The DX23E-7 is designed for all-day productivity. Thanks to the standard 32 kWh battery, it offers an approximate runtime of eight hours, depending on the application. Charging time to reach 100% ranges from 6 to 10 hours under normal charging conditions (3 kW/6 kW), which drops to just 1.5 hours with rapid charging (15 kW). For those opting for the 40 kWh battery, the operating autonomy increases to 10 hours, naturally depending on the specific task.

With the 40 kWh battery, a full charge takes between 7 and 12 hours under normal conditions, while rapid charging (15 kW) can reach 80% in 2.5 hours. Among the highlights of the new Develon DX23E-7 is the significantly reduced operating noise, ensuring a quiet and comfortable work environment. This is paired with zero local emissions, while integrating the performance enhancements of the new DX-7 mini-excavator family.

Develon DX23E-7: an efficient solution for sustainable jobsites

The new DX23E-7 delivers superior performance compared to the internal combustion engine Develon DX19-7 on which it is based. In fact, lifting capacity is 5% higher. Furthermore, it offers better performance during standard work cycles, improved travel capabilities, and greater stability. The development of the EPS (Electric Power System) also led to the removal of the chassis cross-plate from the DX19-7 and an increase in the rear swing radius.

This 35 mm increase provides sufficient space for the battery installation. To further distinguish itself as an electric machine, the Develon DX23E-7 features a new color scheme and graphics. Compared to its ICE counterpart, the electric powertrain significantly reduces periodic maintenance requirements. Only the hydraulic system requires regular servicing, with oil changes scheduled every 1,000 working hours.
