FPT recently joined the Italian Marine Industry Association, Confindustria Nautica.  A national non-profit institution, Confindustria Nautica has represented the interests of the entire yachting supply chain since 1967, both nationally and internationally. It is dedicated to encouraging and enabling the growth of the sector’s businesses, promoting marine culture, and developing nautical tourism across Italy.

This decision, which will further reinforce and facilitate relationships with all players of the Italian yachting supply chain, comes at a time when FPT is experiencing exponential growth in both customer interest and demand in marine engines for the recreational segment, thanks to the particular, world-renowned characteristics of its products: reliability, efficiency, torque density, and high power-to-weight ratio.

Two New Boats Every Day. It Happens in Italy

Every day in Italy, two new boats are powered by FPT marine engines. The over 200 service points in the Mediterranean area provide a prompt response in case of issues and continuous assistance. Such a strong regional presence is backed by a global network of more than 70 distributors and over 900 service points, ensuring that the Brand’s products, services and technical expertise are always within reach of shipyards and vessel operators around the world.

The importance of recreational engines in FPT’s complete offering is clear when analyzing some nationwide sector data. Italian shipyards, that export more than 90% of their production, account for approximately 18% of the global market — with prospects of further growth — and hold a global market share of about 31% for inboard yachts, which is the main sector of interest for FPT (Source: The State of the Art of the Global Yachting Market – Edition 2026 – Abstract).

“Quality, innovation and excellence set the Italian boating industry apart, underpinning its leadership across international markets. We are delighted to welcome FPT, a world-leading brand in propulsion systems, to Confindustria Nautica; its experience, technological expertise, and capacity for innovation represent significant added value for our supply chain. This new member confirms the appeal and strength of the Italian boating sector and demonstrates the importance of consolidating synergies among industry leaders, in order to support competitiveness and foster the sector’s growth throughout global markets,” commented Piero Formenti, President of Confindustria Nautica.
