Carraro Agritalia, a world of transmission in Rovigo – Ep.4
In the latest episode of our series dedicated to Carraro, we focused on the central role of the Rovigo plant within the group. This is precisely where the brand's advanced transmissions come to life. Here is the video.
Carraro Group welcomed us to its Rovigo hub, the historic headquarters of the Agritalia division. This facility serves as the reference point for gears, axles, and transmissions. In particular, they showcased Carraro’s new flagship innovation: a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) designed for vehicles marketed under the Claas and Massey Ferguson brands.
Davide Temporin (Head of R&D) explained how the CVT transmission allows the speed ratio to vary smoothly from zero to maximum without any torque interruption, ensuring linear acceleration and continuous traction. This innovation significantly enhances operator comfort, reducing fatigue and enabling the integration of advanced controls on ergonomic multifunction armrests.
The focus then shifted to the spare parts division and after-sales service, highlighting a cloud-based parts management system and a distributed logistics network spanning Rovigo and Abruzzo. It is a key challenge aimed at supporting heavy-duty machinery that operates continuously over an exceptionally long lifespan (ranging from 20 to 40 years).
