Ekoenergetyka, a leading producer of high-power electric vehicle charging infrastructure on the European market, will supply chargers to Orlen Deutschland, the German unit of Poland’s largest multi-energy group Orlen S.A., including its most advanced Axon Easy 400 model.

The new charger can add 100 km of range to an electric car in 2.5 minutes. It is compliant with Germany’s Eichrecht calibration law, which ensures consumers that charging is accurate and transparent, as well as the Plug & Charge payment standard, which allows drivers to use a charging station without needing to present a credit card or use a mobile app. Poland-based Ekoenergetyka has already supplied more than 80% of Orlen’s current charging network in its home country.

Orlen’s electro-mobility strategy calls for it to build a strong position in Germany’s EV charging market with the aim of achieving more than 100 HPCs by the end of 2024. Ekoenergetyka has been moving into the market of equipment for charging point operators, offering standardized solutions after building its business with customized infrastructure for public transit operators in cities such as Berlin and Paris.

We are proud to be working with Orlen Group, which has strong brands, an extensive network and the ambition to become a leader among charge point operators in our part of Europe,” said Ekoenergetyka CEO and Co-Founder Bartosz Kubik. “The Axon Easy 400 will help us deliver on our strategy of becoming a top provider to charging-point operators, and this contract will give us even greater credibility as we push into this demanding market.”

Ekoenergetyka presented the Axon Easy 400 at the London EV Show this week. The chargers feature an LED availability indicator with 360-degree visibility, vandalism-resistant technology, cables up to 10 meters long and a 24-inch independent advertising screen.

Orlen Deutschland is taking significant steps toward sustainable mobility by accelerating its e-mobility roll-out strategy,” said Piotr Guział, Managing Director of Orlen Deutschland. “Success in the modern business landscape requires a combination of reliable partnerships and a commitment to offering the latest technology. By extending the partnership with Ekoenergetyka we can combine these both aspects and we appreciate to place our order of the Axon Easy 400 here at the London EV Show.”

As it does for other customers, Ekoenergetyka will provide 24/7 remote monitoring and repair services for ORLEN Deutschland from its headquarters in Zielona Góra, Poland, on the border with Germany. The company’s advanced systems allow it to address almost 60% of malfunction reports remotely; repairs that require a physical intervention are handled by the company’s pan-European network of service providers.

Established in 2009, Ekoenergetyka grew out of an academic research project by Kubik and co-founder Maciej Wojeński; it now employs more than 1,000 people and supplies 20% of Europe’s charging stations for municipal buses. It recently announced an agreement to provide charging stations to Ionity, a charge point operator owned by Audi, BMW, Ford, Hyundai-Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.

Ekoenergetyka’s expansion drive is backed by Enterprise Investors, a leading Central European private equity fund, which took a significant minority stake last year. The fund has announced plans to invest more than €45 million in e-mobility projects.
