Liebherr Components continues its roadmap to enhance the manufacturing plant in Colmar, France. It is evident that the industrial engines segment remains core to the Group’s planning. In addition to supplying engines for earthmoving machinery, the Group intends to further strengthen its presence in power generation.

The groundbreaking ceremony in Colmar

On June 29, 2026, Liebherr-Components Colmar SAS held a groundbreaking ceremony, marking the launch of a new phase in the expansion of its production site in Colmar.

With the groundbreaking ceremony, Liebherr-Components Colmar marks the next step in the extension of its site, aiming to nearly double its production capacity by 2030.

This investment program of over €90 million notably includes the creation of a 11,600 m² ground for production and logistics, an increase in assembly capacity from 13 to 18 stations, as well as the creation of a 7,800 m² logistics centre. It also includes the strengthening of testing capabilities through the installation of two new high-power test benches, bringing their total number to six.

Through this project, Liebherr reaffirms its long-term commitment to the Colmar region and strengthens its local industrial footprint. This development addresses current and future market needs, while laying the foundations for sustainable growth in the power generation sector.

This development will be accompanied by the creation of more than 200 jobs within the coming years. The recruitment procedure has already begun and will continue progressively in line with the ramp-up of the new facilities.
