So Nanni reported with an official: “These 3 new VCSM units, with an option for a 4th, have been ordered by the French MoD procurement agency Direction Générale pour l’Armement (DGA) to the prime contractor, SOCARENAM shipyard with a design from Archi-Delion naval architect. This new generation, larger and more powerful than the current one, will be powered with two V12 1900 hp D2862 engines, including ZF gearboxes, and electronic command equipment. Theses ships will complement the current generation of VCSM, RPB 20 type, already powered by NANNI/MAN : over the past 17 years, NANNI has motorized a total of 60 RPB 20 (24 for France and 36 for export) with the MAN V12 D2842 engine, an earlier version of the D2862 engine. The new VCSM units are multi purpose (police at sea, maritime defense, fight against trafficking and illegal fishing, rescue at sea and anti-pollution operations) some of them will also be assigned to secure the Kourou space center in Guyana during launches.  Known for the robustness, power and reliability of their engines, NANNI and MAN are proud to continue this long-standing VCSM partnership, offering today a complete propulsion package solution, the most efficient on the market.
