DPE on the Stage V way

The beginning of the DPE Rimini will also be the occasion to take an important step right inside the Stage V universe. It is effective, on paper, since January 1, 2019 and it will fully reveal its effects starting next year, in the crucial range between 56 and 130 kilowatts. The stand-by groups avoided the legislator’s strike, while the prime-power range, instead, remained trapped in the interpretation of the stationary application.

OREFICE GENERATORS AND SILENGEN

Motorpumps took a big hit in terms of drawing water from the irrigation canals to bring it to the thirsty fields. An application as vital as it is now assigned to alternative technological solutions, like the old OM, Landini and Deutz abandoned near the water sources, with power take-offs at work. Not to underestimate the impact on the price: in some cases it is triple.

DPE rimini

On the occasion of a seminar organized by DIESEL magazine in Rimini, during Ecomondo – Key Energy 2017, Ascomac Unimot provided its contribution, prepared by the associates, on Stage V, the Position Paper, of which we report an excerpt here, concerning the pre-buy: «Transition engines (which must still be produced by Dec. 31, 2018) and the machines on which these engines are installed, can be placed on the market during the transition period provided the machine has a manufacturing date no later than 18 months from Dec. 31, 2018 and a further 6 months for placing the machine on the market. For engines of the NRE category (diesel engines below 560 kW), the legislation authorizes the extension of the transition period by a further 12-month period for machine manufacturers with a total annual production of less than 100 units».

MORE ON THE EXPECTATIONS FOR THE DPE RIMINI

To clarify the definition concerning the identity of stationary machines and other doubts, a series of FAQs, provided by the Position Paper, help to find a way. For example, did you know that: «A part of the engine can be shipped unassembled, limited to the exhaust gas management system (after-treatment system), with the exception of the EGR system and the turbine. In this case, however, it will be necessary to activate a procedure and a register for the delegated assembly by the OEM».

The DPE can relate on a network of institutional collaborations, including the one with Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster (LE2C), due to the presence of their associates (to name a few, AB Impianti, Enertech Solution, Turboden, University of Milan Bicocca).

The collaboration with Lombardy Energy Cleantech Cluster

The association represents the productive system of the Lombardy region (Italy) for energy and environment and it is organized on the Multiple helix model: a platform for research, innovation and training projects that exploits the synergy between companies, business associations, universities, knowledge and research centers, public administration and finance.

The association has now reached its tenth year of activity (it was born in 2009 from the initiative of 8 companies in the energy sector), in 2015 it was the first Italian cluster to obtain the Gold Label. LE2C is a partner of different European projects including NESSIE (North Sea Solution for Innovation in Corrosion for Energy) and VIDA (Value-added Innovation in fooD chAins). Among the energy challenges undertaken by LE2C there are the production and distribution of conventional energy, decommissioning and development of new technologies and energy storage systems, and smart grids.

To remain up to date with the news, recenlty an intercluster working group on biomethane was established.
