The goal of DEUTZ and DLR is to develop new ideas and solutions for the operation of construction equipment and agricultural machinery using hydrogen.

The acquisition is supposed to enable CNH Industrial’s Construction Equipment business to integrate Eurocomach mini and midi excavators, Sampierana undercarriages and spare parts into its current product portfolio alongside those of its existing third-party OEM partners.

The Brokk 900 is available both with a 71-kilowatt ABB electric motor and in the diesel version (with Kohler or Kubota engines), with emissions standards up to Tier 4 Final for the American market or Stage V for the European market. The power supplied is in any case around 55 kilowatts.

Customers can choose from one of two 2,300hp Stage IV engines; a 16-cylinder Cummins QSK60 or an MTU 16V4000 Detroit Diesel.

The EU Stage V engines provided by DEUTZ will power machines belonging to ASKO Group’s four main brands, namely MST, Başak Traktör, Starken and ELS Lift.

Dana’s Spicer HVT1 uses an advanced electronic control system to continually adjust the mix of hydrostatic and mechanical power, allowing the engine to maintain a consistent speed in its most efficient operating range.

The partnership includes a supply agreement for updated 6.1 liter and 4.1 liter DEUTZ engines to be used in selected Fendt tractors. In addition, AGCO and DEUTZ will explore closer cooperation on engines or engine installation components below 150 hp.
